Porcelain veneers are extremely versatile and are used to improve the appearance of your smile by realigning crooked or protruding teeth, closing even very large gaps and reshaping odd shaped teeth.
Dental veneers are thin slivers of porcelain or composite resin material, which is placed over the whole front of your tooth. Your dentist will prepare your tooth by removing a small amount of enamel, and will take impressions of your tooth, which are sent to the laboratory for your veneers to be made. This can take from one to two weeks. Once your veneer is ready, your dentist will use a special bonding material to fit the veneer to your tooth.
Sometimes if the tooth is very broken down due to large fillings or decay, then a veneer cannot be used. A crown is used instead. Our crowns are all porcelain crowns and will also rectify crooked/protruding teeth close gaps and reshape teeth, just like veneers.
Bridges are used to replace missing teeth. Our bridges made of high strength porcelain.
Decayed or chipped teeth can often be repaired with white composite fillings that look natural, however if the damage is too substantial, particularly on the back teeth, then an inlay or onlay would be recommended. Inlays or onlays can be made from a number of strong materials such as metals or ceramics.
If you are self-conscious about the shade of your teeth or if you have staining on some of your teeth, professional teeth whitening treatment is a safe and recommended option for you to consider.
